Balinese Massage course at Jamu Spa School in Bali

Hello everyone,

I've decided to do this post in english because I've being unfair to my non-brazilian friends and other international people that want to read my blog.
Me and my spanish friend, Marta, really wanted to do a massage course in Bali (we are both massage therapists). We saw Jamu Spa School on internet and we quickly got interested, because it's one of the best schools in Bali. We sent them an e-mail and soon we subscribed to the CIBTAC Endorsed Balinese Massage Course. I can say it was the best thing I did in this trip.
In 2 days we: decided to go to Bali to do this course, bought the flight ticket from Thailand and just came.

We made a video in spanish/english and a little bit of portuguese to explain and show how was our course. We had to record with 2 diffent cameras because outside was very humid and the lenses had a fog.

When we arrived to the school, everybody received us very well. We met the recepcionist, manager, director and teachers very fast. They were all very friendly.
The school director made a meeting for all the students to explain how the school works and for us to get to know each other.

In the first day we had a quick theoretical class about balinese massage and ayurveda philosophy, and in the afternoon we learned how is the massage in the back of the body. I fell in love with the little I learned about ayurveda philosophy. I really want to go deeper in this subject someday.

In the next day we learned the massage on the front of the body and from this moment we did many hours of practice during the week until the last day, when we had our final test.

Everyday we had 1 hour break for lunch. They make food with love, we can see and taste that. Also, everyday the cook brought me something more to eat, because I'm vegetarian. I felt so thankfull that I can't explain.

Our teacher Ketut is wonderful! He follows all the ayurveda theory of having a good relationship with God, nature and other humains. He is heavenly patient, full of knowledge and his hands are the best I've ever felt. Seriously, we couldn't ask for a better teacher.
Everyday they provide us a clean uniform. We were so relieved with that, because we swet a lot doing the massage.
The Balinese Massage is one of my favourites. It has 7 main moviments, and they are relatively easy to do. And this massage is amazing for who receives, It's very relaxing and has a good effect on tight muscles.

Before the massage we do a foot bath to clean and exfoliate the feet. It feels really good and it's perfect to get ready for the massage.

The duration of the course is 5 days and it was the exact time we needed to learn the technique, practice and memorize the massage sequence.

Me and Marta are very satisfied with this course. I hope we can come back someday to do another course here.
Thank you Jamu Spa School for the amazing experience!
